At the 87th Academy Awards "Oscar" winning the "Best Animated Film" category was "City of Heroes" (Big Hero 6). The film follows the adventures of big robot Baymax and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a high-tech team.
Robots have begun to appear in movies since 1927, when Fritz Lang showed the android Maria in the film "Metropolis". It was the first robot ever depicted in a film.
Lang was way ahead of his time, so argued George Lucas, who modeled C-3PO after Maria. "Metropolis" was his favorite movie when he was in film school.
