A new version of Garageband- even more creative freedom
The other day the long-awaited update for Garageband In my opinion, the most important changes have to do with the ability to create own chords for Smart Instrument and tonal changes at any place in the song without transposing already recorded parts.
In the previous version, it was difficult to perform any complex thing using "robot guitarists." When choosing a key, Garageband offered a certain sequence of chords, perhaps the most versatile, but far from exhaustive. Changing the tonality, on the other hand, led to the distortion of all the previously recorded sections at all (in essence, to spoiling). The current version does not have any trace of these problems. Autotranspose can be turned off. And you can do just about anything you like with chords. Here’s what it looks like :

Naturally, my first desire was to try out the innovations. And this is what the correct tone change (Em-C) looks like now: demo track (3 smart instruments used).
Very pleased with the possibility of better sound export: VBR, lossless. Previously the bitrate was limited to 192 kbps only.
Interesting (but not yet fully tested) innovations include: 3/4 and 6/8 clock sizes, Smart Keyboard arpeggiator and customizable note force settings for touch instruments.

Without exaggeration the update can be considered revolutionary. Let’s hope that further improvements will be aimed at turning the musical toy into a professional product. Much to our delight.
